Since my last post on clean-eating apps, I have been meaning to write a follow-up post with more of my favorite apps. And there are a quite a few for Android, thankfully – especially since we will soon be making the big [and somewhat dreaded] move from iPhone to Android… Image may be NSFW.

Food Trippin’ – Looking to dine out but craving something other than greasy, GMO-packed fast food? This app can give you those alternative options in seconds!

Using the GPS, this app can find your alternative and healthier choices for dining out – eateries, healthy food markets, farmers’ markets, juice joints, artisanals, microbreweries, organic coffee spots and more. You are also able to add suggestions to their app, in case they have overlooked someone that should be on their map! This is an exciting app, and one I personally cannot wait to explore!
PROS: free, user-friendly, fun to use
CONS: database is still growing, but the designers are eager for you to help them find these hidden gems in your area
Find Real Food – amazing and well-researched app developed by Weston A. Price, to help shopping for real food easier.

Let this app help you do your research on real food, and where you can find it.
PROS: database is constantly being updated
CONS: geolocation is not used in this app
Buycott – discover the background, ethics and morals of a company/ product – and the causes they are supporting [and therefore the ones your dollars are too!]. Very helpful for shoppers who are vegans, vegetarians and overall earth and animal lovers.

This app is amazing! If you are curious what any said company or product is supporting [and your dollars would be too] this is a great way to not only stand up for what you believe in but get the attention of the companies that might not be crazy that this information is out there. Change comes in small steps and this app is a brilliant way to get the information into the hands of the people! Simply join a cause that you believe in once you download the app, and just scan and find out if the product violates your beliefs or standards. This one is so important to share!
PROS: easy to use, informative, free
CONS: cannot think of one!
Real Food Scanner – a quick and easy way to find out what is really in your food by a quick scan

From the website:
“Just point the app at a food barcode and get an instant red, yellow, or green indicator. Scanned items are marked red (contains processed ingredients linked to potential serious health issues), yellow (contains ingredients that, while not 100% natural, do not have the more serious side effects), and green (contains real, natural ingredients).”
PROS: makes clean eating SO SIMPLE!
CONS: cannot think of one!
Check GMO – easy way to scan your food products for GMO’s

While the database is still building, this app offers customers free uploads to scan items in that might not already be in the database and a quick response time [three days!] with GMO information. This app makes avoiding GMO’s super easy, both in food and skincare.
PROS: easy to use, straightforward interface
CONS: database still growing
Harvest – Select the Best Produce

This is the app you will probably see me playing on while shopping for produce from here on out! There are some produce that I am not well-versed in, and am not 100% sure if I am getting the cream of the crop or a fruit/ veggie that is not going to store for very long. Anyway, this makes picking out the best produce possible so darn easy. It also has helpful information about those evil pesticides and the best way to store it! :::happy dance:::
Android friends, I am sorry to say this is not available to you yet, but BEG the app designers to make it! I have not found anything similar in Google Play… yet. :/
PROS: easy to use, seriously beautiful app, well-designed
CONS: not available on Android…
Find Me Gluten Free – simple way to get gluten free menus and restaurants at your fingertips in seconds
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
Not only does this app provide a pretty thorough list and map of gluten free dine-out options in your area, but you can also contact the restaurant from the app, as well as get directions. This app also features “Dining Cards” to explain your gluten intolerance [helpful information!], as well as reviews of restaurants so you can make the best choices.
PROS: free, thorough
CONS: cannot think of one!
